Welcome to belle and olive.
I’m Suzanne and I’m a mixed media & textile artist. I was born in Calverton, Nottinghamshire and have lived in Nottinghamshire all my life. I specialise in hand crafted, one of a kind, quirky textile and mixed media jewellery and art. I try to recycle as much as possible and like to use old tins, broken clocks, vintage textiles and old sewing notions in my creations…even the odd rusty nail….I like nothing more than to rummage around a vintage market to find treasures to adorn my works. I love toadstools, their form and colours and they feature quite a lot in my work. I am very much inspired by nature.
This year I am taking part in the Open Studios Notts event for the first time. I am opening up my working studio to the public for two weekends in June – please see ‘Events’ page for more details about this.
about this site…..
‘blogging’ is new to me…and yes its clear I don’t get around to it very often…I hope eventually to keep you up to date with the latest work and other ‘stuff’ that goes on in my life and head…..and in my artists workshop in Kirkby in Ashfield.
belle and olive also has a presence on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and I would love you to take a look and say hello – the links on the menu bar will take you straight through to these sites.
belle and olive mixed media art and jewellery is available to buy through my Etsy shop – clicking on this option on the menu bar will take you straight through to the shop. I have a stockist in Sherwood Forest and I also sell my work at events throughout the year – see the events page for upcoming events.
